Scope of responsibilities include:
• Serve as Chief Engineer, leading our engineering team in Vermont.
• Create and review engineering calculations related to loads and stresses.
• Provide engineering advice.
• Develop and review documents for state permitting.
• Collaborate with relevant professional staff such as architects.
• Monitor and inspect work performed by contractors.
• Oversee construction monitoring and approvals.
• Inspect properties to assess the condition of structures and foundations.
• Conduct Reserve and Transition Studies for homeowner associations (HOAs).
• Performing Enhanced Building Inspections.
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
Preferred qualifications include:
• 2 to 5 years of practical experience as a consultant or engineering professional.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Geotechnical preferred).
• Experience in construction management or architectural engineering.
• Licensed, Professional Engineer in Vermont.
• Demonstrated interest in building construction and solving engineering challenges.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and enthusiasm for the work.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Licensed, Professional Engineer sought by a well-established firm specializing in comprehensive building inspection services including commercial and residential pre-purchase inspections, property condition assessments, comprehensive needs analysis, and reserve studies. Responsibilities will include field investigations, analysis, and report writing.
Engineers work from their home base on field assignments in Vermont and New Hampshire. Administrative offices are located in Rutland, Vermont.
A background in design, facilities management, or construction management is required. Individual must also be self-motivated, goal-orientated, and enjoy interaction with the public. Organizational skills and excellent communication skills are required.
