Michael J. Foster, Jr., P.E.

Mike is a licensed, Professional Engineer in Vermont and New Hampshire, a licensed Property Inspector in the State of Vermont, a licensed Home Inspector in the State of New Hampshire, a Board Certified Building Inspection Engineer by the Engineers Certification Institute (ECI), and a Certified American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) Inspector.

He holds memberships in the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). Mike is also a LEED Accredited Professional, demonstrating, through examination, a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont. Additionally, he holds an Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology, with honors, from Vermont Technical College.

Mike joined Criterium-Lalancette & Dudka Engineers in June of 2003 and has since conducted over 4,000 residential and commercial building inspections. Before joining Criterium-Lalancette & Dudka Engineers, Mike was employed by SVE Associates, in Brattleboro, Vermont, as a Senior Engineer and Manager of their Greenfield, Massachusetts branch office. He was responsible for day to day office operations, managing the design and permitting of land development, and public works projects. During his tenure with SVE Mike acted as owner’s representative on many construction projects, ensuring they were built according to specifications and authorizing progress payments.

In addition to SVE Associates, Mike was employed by Stevens Associates, P.C, in Brattleboro, Vermont as an engineering project manager and has worked as an independent consultant specializing in land development engineering.

Before entering the engineering field, Mike was employed by Jerry Tucker Builder, in Ludlow, Vermont. With Tucker, he gained first-hand experience in all phases of new building construction including footings and foundations, framing, insulation, sheetrock, roofing, and finish work.
